Adobe - mud & straw bricks, high insulation factor

Acequia - irrigation ditch

Pueblo Style - flat roofs, stucco walls, rounded edges, earth tones, saltillo tile or brick floors, white or brown walls, eclectic interior design.

Territorial Style - modified Pueblo styles, stucco walls, french doors & windows, tin pitched roofs, verandas & porches, red brick floors, white or mauve walls, eclectic interior design.

Viga - peeled pine logs used as ceiling beams

Latillas - aspen, cedar or alder saplings between the vigas

Corbel - carved wood support for beams and columns

Kiva - a small rounded fireplace built into the corner

Nicho - niche or small shelf built into the wall

Banco - adobe bench at base of wall

Canale - gutter where water leaves the roof
