Mid March in Santa Fe - Even though there is snow and skiing
high in the mountains; golfers are now out in full force as the
average day temperatures run 50 - 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Hitting
a golf ball at 7,000 feet is a lot of fun or very frustrating.
You will crush your drives in this thin air, then often overshoot
the green with your wedge. We suggest shooting a bucket of practice
shots before a full round.
In Santa Fe we have three private golf course communities: Las
Campanas, Quail Run, and Wedgewood on the Green.
Las Campanas maintains one championship course, Sunrise Golf
Course, a private 18-hole Jack Nicklaus-signature golf course.
Sunrise is rated the top course in New Mexico by Golf Digest magazine.
Las Campanas is also a gated community including a clubhouse,
spa, and equestrian facilities. Homes price range $700,000 - $3
million.
Quail Run is a gated community with an 18 hole irons course.
Clubhouse, restaurant, spa, indoor pool also included. Condos
and homes price range, $300,000 - $500,000.
Wedgewood on the Green is part of the Santa Fe Country Club.
Available for each home within Wedgewood is a membership to the
Santa Fe Country Club, Santa Fe's oldest club boasting an 18 hole
golf course surrounded by lush trees. The pool, tennis courts,
restaurant and bar are available only to members and their guests.
