State of the Santa Fe Market

Santa Fe median sales price ends year on an upswing. As expected the sales price for Santa Fe area homes rose during the final three months of 2005. Combined City of Santa Fe and Santa Fe County median price rose to $419,950. The median sales price is determined from only those sales listed on the Santa Fe Association of Realtor’s Multiple Listing Service.

"Interest rates remained low during the final quarter of 2005", said Denise Devalle, the 2006 President of the Santa Fe Association of Realtors. “This fact couple with the increasing regulatory pressure on housing developments within Santa Fe , obviously results in an upward push on prices.” DeValle added, "Santa Fe continues to stand out as an attractive to place to live, and with an abundance of attractive financing options helping people purchase homes; the market remains strong through the end of the year."
